FAQs

Questions we are asked most

If the answer you need is not here, contact us. We would rather explain it than have you guess.

Who employs me?

WECGROUPS. You have a contract of employment with us, not with the recruitment agency or the end client.

How much will I take home?

We cannot tell you a percentage. Your net pay depends on your tax code, personal allowance, pension contribution, student loan plan and hours worked. The Key Information Document we issue before your assignment shows an illustrative calculation using your circumstances.

Why does my payslip show employer's National Insurance?

Because the assignment rate agreed between your agency and the end client is not your gross wage. It is the total cost of your engagement, and it must cover employment costs including employer's NI, our margin, and holiday pay. Your payslip itemises all of this so you can see exactly where the money goes.

Can I work for more than one agency?

Yes. You can hold assignments from multiple agencies while remaining employed by WECGROUPS under a single contract and a single PAYE record.

When do I get paid?

On the pay date for your assignment, provided approved timesheet data and cleared funds are received from your agency by the agreed deadline. If your agency submits late, payment moves to the next available run.

Do you offer any way to increase my take-home pay?

No. We operate standard PAYE at statutory rates. We do not operate loan schemes, trusts, offshore arrangements, or any other structure. If another provider offers you a higher take-home percentage for the same assignment rate, ask them in writing to explain the mechanism, and check HMRC's published list of named tax avoidance schemes.

Is WECGROUPS approved by HMRC?

No — and neither is any other umbrella company. HMRC does not operate an approval, accreditation or registration scheme for umbrella companies. Any provider claiming HMRC approval is misrepresenting its status. What we can evidence is that we operate PAYE correctly, submit RTI on time, and will provide submission confirmations on request.

What happens to my pension if I leave?

Your pension pot remains yours and stays with our workplace pension provider. You can transfer it, leave it, or combine it with a future employer's scheme. Contact the provider directly.

How do I raise a complaint?

Email info@wecgroups.com. We acknowledge every complaint in writing, tell you who is handling it, and respond substantively as quickly as we can. See our Complaints Procedure.

What data do you hold about me and why?

We hold the personal and financial data necessary to employ you and operate PAYE, including your identity documents, National Insurance number, tax code, bank details and pay records. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations. See our Privacy Policy.
